About this event

For School Field Trips, Homeschoolers, Senior Centers and other Group Outings. Every year, the Rochester Opera House welcomes the holiday season with one of the most beloved stories ever told. Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has warmed hearts and haunted generations of imaginations since 1843. This year, we are bringing you the World Premiere of a brand new work composed, choreographed, and written by three of our local creative legends. You know the story. Ebenezer Scrooge, the most tight-fisted miser in all of Victorian London, is visited on Christmas Eve by three spirits who take him on a journey through his past, his present, and a future he desperately hopes to change. What unfolds is a timeless tale of redemption, generosity, and the transformative power of human connection – as fresh and resonant today as the night Dickens first put pen to paper. This holiday season, the Rochester Opera House brings Scrooge’s transformation to life on our historic stage with all the warmth, wonder, and theatrical magic the season deserves. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or making it your annual tradition, A Christmas Carol is the perfect way to gather your family, shake off the cold, and remember what this time of year is truly about. Ghosts of Christmas Past welcome. Bah humbugs tolerated.
