One Painting: Four Color Palettes with Jude Valentine

About this event

@ This class meets weekly on zoom for four Thursdays. This class is eligible for access rates. Color wheels are an excellent foundation for learning to mix color, but what comes next? In this class, you will explore how to develop color schemes from the color wheel and use them to create effective color compositions. Working from a single composition throughout the course, we will investigate how the overall selection of colors in a painting can be thoughtfully constructed to create atmosphere and mood. Each class will be dedicated to understanding the application of one or more color schemes such as analogous, complementary, split-complementary, triadic, rectangular and monochromatic. Suitable for beginner and intermediate painters, this class will provide participants with a working understanding of color application and a sampler of different color schemes for reference. Jude Valentine completed her BFA at the Maine College of Art and MFA in Visual Art from Vermont College of Fine A
