Dabin Ryu "Discomfort" Album Release Concert

About this event

Dabin Ryu - piano Brandon Choi - trumpet Nathan Raising - alto sax Kevin Sun - tenor sax Joe Giordano - trombone Benjamin Young - bass Willis Edmundson - drums Celebrated pianist and composer Dabin Ryu presents the live release concert for Discomfort.—her third leader album and first-ever live recording. Born from her 2025 Jazz Gallery Residency Commission, this project delves into "things that make me uncomfortable." To capture these emotions, Ryu stepped away from her familiar creative boundaries, embracing unfamiliar composition techniques and confronting the discomfort of the unknown head-on. The result is a striking, deeply personal set of music that explores vulnerability, transformation, and artistic courage. Join us for a special evening celebrating this new release! Livestream tickets coming soon!
