About this event

On Wednesday, November 4 at 6:00 PM, come to Phoenix Books Burlington to discuss A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole! Dive into what is considered one of the first paranormal romances, a classic featuring a half vampire, half Valkyrie FMC. Calling all romance readers -- this is a book club for you! Each meeting highlights a romance book trope (i.e., rock star romances, enemies to lovers, etc.) and discusses a book that incorporates that trope. Arrive ready to discuss the pre-chosen book(s) and to recommend other titles that use the trope. The ultimate goal is to nurture a community that celebrates romance novels as a means of joy, inclusivity, empowerment, and hope. About the book: Half vampire, half Valkyrie, Emmaline spent her entire sheltered life hidden among the Lore in New Orleans surrounded by the loving, yet overbearing coven who raised her. All Emmaline Troy wanted was a trip to Paris -- to investigate her parents' mysterious deaths there all those years ago. And to finally have a small adventure and perhaps even a first kiss. But one crowded city night, as she's making her way down a street, she's knocked off her feet by a striking werewolf. He's towering, intimidating, and has an infuriatingly seductive Scottish Brogue. And he won't let her go. Tropes: Fated mates, paranormal romance DATE: Wednesday, November 4, 2026 from 6:00-7:00 PM LOCATION: Phoenix Books Burlington, 89 Church Street, Burlington, VT RSVP: Phoenix Books has adopted a free, RSVP-based system for our in-store events.
