Winter Solstice Celebration with Kathryn Goodson & Friends: Celestial
Calendar
About this event
Celestial is the 5th annual Winter Solstice program presented by Kerrytown Concert House with pianist Kathryn Goodson and Friends, sharing lullabies, stories, music of the season and more, aiming to shed light, warmth and beauty. Near the close of December, when sunshine and warmth are at their lowest point, expectations are high and emotions mercurial. Even happy memories and nostalgia can bring melancholy, not to mention the isolation felt by those with sad memories and current struggles. Performers joining Kathryn this year are esteemed bass-baritone Daniel Washington, sparkling mezzo-soprano, Elena Zelinko and superb violinist Sonia Lee. KCH welcomes them to share the music and words with you—to exhale, sing, laugh, maybe feel a bit misty, but also to look forward together to the increasing light of tomorrow.
