About this event
1927 - Silent • With Live Accompaniment by Mark Herman on the Mighty Wurlitzer • Introduction by Randy Haberkamp • Silent film doesn’t get more powerful than this, and it’s one of those titles that reminds you what the medium could do without a word of dialogue. At the very first Academy Awards, Janet Gaynor won Best Actress for this film, and the cinematography and camera movement were way ahead of their time.
